Starting in New York's Catskill Mountains my husband Fred and I have been designing and making fine shearling clothing and accessories for discriminating buyers for more than twenty years.
Unlike most shearling and leather garment manufacturers, we produce everything the old fashion way, by hand, in our studio in the Teton Valley. There is a place for mass produced, imported leather goods, but to create the quality we strive for, there is no substitute for hand making each beautiful garment one at a time.
Now located on the edge of the magnificent Teton Mountains along the Idaho/Wyoming border, we are focused on producing sophisticated contemporary shearling garments for stylish and active women. Under the brand name of Rita Designs, our fashions are sold by select stores in the resort communities of the Rockies. Our garments to look just as great in Manhattan as they do in Jackson Hole or Aspen.
Today, the quality of the shearling being produced in the premier modern tanneries in Spain and Italy allows us to choose magically soft and beautifully colored shearlings in exquisite textures and patterns. These wonderful pelts open the door to the creation of stunning garments that are visually very exciting to look at and be seen in, but which are also amazingly comfortable to wear.
